Have the Decepticon campaign be all about finding a way to usurp Bee. Have Prowl lurking in the background doing shady stuff. The post war time period could get really interesting because you could follow a lot of the events from the Robots in Disguise comic. It would be like WFC or FOC but just an open world concept. The great war campaign would be more of the same that we've seen before. For the Decepticon part maybe you could have Megatron in his gladiator arena and trying to find Decepticon recruits. In the pre-war era I picture things like Orion Pax serving as a cop or Prowl and Chromedome walking around doing detective work like they did in MTMTE. These 3 time periods would also allow you to play in an Autobot campaign or a Decepticon campaign too. This might be overly ambitious too but I would be really cool to have 3 main time periods that the player could play in: pre-war, the war, and post war. I know everyone doesn't like IDW but it's super popular right now and I feel like it would interest a lot of people. I picture that concept set in the IDW universe and specifically set on Cybertron.
You had an overarching story going on but you could let the player explore inbetween the "missions" and there were even side games that didn't necessarily contribute to the overall story but were extra little puzzles or mini adventures that helped make the game more exciting. I played it years ago so I'm not as familiar with it as I once was but I loved that game because it was kind of open world. This might seem a little odd but when I first read this post my mind went immediately to the Batman Arkham City game.
